2nd set of scales...new take on a old pattern

Here's a new set of scales I made this morning. Started out as 1/8", thinned them out a little and contoured. Very little wet sanding required, just enough to shine them up. Will make the wedge later on tonight but here's how they sit right now.

Wow man. My first attempt at scales (and only attempt) I used G10 Ghost Jade like this and they didn't turn out nearly as nice. Granted I used a dremel to do all the work which why it probably sucked but still. Very well done. Wish I had more time and a workshop to try to make scales on my own.

Thanks man. Yeah I have had a little practice in the last working with G10 making knife scales. I can't imagine using a dremel with as hard as this stuff is. One deep gouge can take a long time to sand out.

I'm really becoming a huge fan of these tradition wade and butcher scale shape! Nice work!

The best pattern for large blades IMO.

Finally finished it up last night. Had to pin the wedge 3 times and the pivot 2 because I wasn't happy with the results. Pretty happy with how it turned out though.
