Given my first shave, which was a lot of fun but resulted in a slicing, I decided to go with single-pass shaves only for a while, strictly developing technique and a level of comfort and confidence.
Well, sure enough, I sliced my left cheek on my first pass during shave number two, not too far from the first slice. Dang it! Not that it hurt or bled much, but I was really hoping that it would have gone better. I was presentable and irritation free, so I suppose that was "good enough".
My third straight shave was this morning. I managed a shave which was, yet again, free from irritation but not evenly smooth. What I didn't manage to do was cut myself! I was so very pleased that I was tempted to go for another pass, but decided not to for the sake of teaching myself patience. I did, however, run over one spot a second time because my angle was bad and there was more stubble left over than on other places.
I guess I wonder if it's a reasonable goal to get firstly to the point where a 1-pass shave is evenly smooth before moving onto maybe a 2-pass DFS.
