A quarter in 1967 is worth $1.72 today. I can't think of a single modern production blade that costs anything close to that. Even Feather blades can be had for as low as 30-40 cents each.
It sounds like this blade and its advertisements may have been the beginning of what would become the cartridge racket that we have today.
It doesnt really surprise me, there's always overpriced stuff for sale. What does surprise me is that schick made them as Schick has always striked me as an unassuming company.
