Gentlemen, I must report my failure in a moment of weakness. Yesterday I took my elderly neighbors to a local flea market. While perusing, I spotted a minty Schick G4, the Schick 66 razor. I got it for 8 dollars. I've always admired the blue handle and chrome texture head. So I must depart your brave and valorous ranks.

You have had an amazing run, including successfully completing last year as well. Hats off! And the 66 is a looker for sure!

I’m still in. No wavering. Been to flea markets. Been perusing the BST regularly for WTB threads with stuff I m looking to sell. So my confidence is high that I will complete my first Gruyère.

As a serial collector, I do understand the fallen. If I see a Toggle set for $25 at the flea market, I may fall too. But that is a ridiculously long shot.

I feel the same! Similarly towards a Gillette Hybrid Tech - but that’s not going to happen either!

If it makes you feel better, I’ve had two mint Hybrid Tech sets, and as cool as they are, and as smooth as they shave, at the end of the day, they are just another Tech variant. On the sole basis of the shave results, the Hybrid Tech is hugely overrated in my opinion. But for the coolness factor and collectibility, they are very high on a lot of peoples list. I ultimately sold off both of mine. A flat bottom Tech shaves 99.5% as good. But as always, ymmv.

I fell for a limited DE razor which features both my first name and (!) meets all the specs I'd be looking for in a razor... that unique combination was just too much of a temptation and let my defense shield collapse.

By the way, I fixed it for you. Rationalising with specifications is not going to help you!
