Let’s goooo!!
I always watch the Olympics, summer and winter. The engrossing stories of working to get there can be good, but world class performances are simply enthralling. I relate most to sports of my own era (sprinter/long jumper and springboard diver in the 1960s), but I really enjoy them all, even futbol.Let’s goooo!!
Skateboarding is great, I still get the urge.Don't care about opening or closing ceremonies. Wish the Olympics would be old school without many of the new additions like break dancing, or skateboard riding etc.
I'll be pulling for Gee and Woods in the road bike race, Degrasse in track. Aside from that, not savvy about many athletes.Who are the athletes you are really watching for this time? I have to say I’m not knowledgeable about who might be the Usain Bolt of this Olympics. Nice to see Simone Biles back - maybe it’s her.
I could do without swimming, or rather reduce it to one event. It is absurd to me that there are hundreds of medals awarded for basically repeating the same event over and over again - slightly different numbers of lengths and different ways of paddling, etc - so you end up with one guy getting 7 gold medals merely because he is the best swimmer (which is worth one medal). And there definitely shouldn’t be any medals for breaststroke because that’s only for people who can’t swim especially well. When I think of Olympics I think got Track & Field, Gynmnastics, Equestrian Event, Swimming, Archery, many of the New Event are X-Ga me Event, not olympic sports.
I've taken the liberty of nominating you for the teamBreaking is news to me. Didn’t know they added that. Kinda silly IMO but everyone thought snowboarding wasn’t worthy of an Olympic sport and now it’s one of the biggest draws. 3x3 Basketball and Trampoline are the oddballs to me, I guess now Breaking is added to my “why is that an Olympic sport” list.
