2024 Shave Purchase Sabbatical - The Year of MacGyver

This is your *cough* fearless *cough* leader and I am about to transition to a MacGruber as I am knocked out of restraint.

Next week my lady and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary and on these types of occasions we like to give each other gifts. Something tangible to remember the occasion and something that is befitting for the event at hand.

I am getting a Supply 2.0 (has a 20 ring to it). I use injectors solely for head shaves.

The problem I have is that in my environment I am the only shaving nut around. Getting shaving gifts is always dicey as the rules also state. My son is also a DE shaver, but he sticks with his Slim with no intention of venturing out. My lady has no idea about my preferences be it aggressive or mild, injectors or DE, et cetera. And she has no resources other than me and my notes. So getting the Supply is on me and therefore I am declaring myself knocked out.

A new personal record with 7 consecutive months of restraint. And last year already helped a lot. This year definitely trumps that. I have temptations yes, but I feel little desire to act on my wants, because these acquisitions would clearly be for “having” or “collecting” rather than a thoughtful addition - if such thing exists. I also have zero interest to go treewhaling

I have the utmost respect for those still in. Keep it up gents!! We can do this!

I will continue my commitment as your administrator as I do not want to burden others with that task and it’s no burden on me anyway.

Thanks man! I super appreciate that. The razor (Supply 2.0 with additional baseplates) presented itself already and was delivered yesterday afternoon. This was one of those “I want to buy you a razor…help me out” type of questions and there I was with my back against the wall…try saying no to your significant other…

My lovely wife and I will have our 10th anniversary later this year. The good thing is I already own a 1.0 razor Greencult, in case you wonder. And yeah, the debut shave is still pending.

Through Leaf Shaving, I exchanged a previously purchased and unopened Twig for a Thorn. I bought it last year as a backup but the original seems to be holding up well. No money changed hands.

Bathroom is two weeks into a renovation project, so I have been sticking with DEs for now, mostly the titanium Paradigm DB. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Way to go @Ruva! Very good. This is my second restraint and I have improved my personal best since May and it’s no picknick! I think I can manage, but these past weeks were pretty itchy!

Luckily we are in this together and with fantastic support of the group we manage to keep at it!

Ah - I missed my Q2 check in! While I'm still in, I think my monk-like resolve to avoid purchases went too far and I was off the site for a few months .

I'm back now, I hope I can hit a better middle road with this for the rest of the year, not purchasing but not avoiding my brothers either. I'm coming up on my second year of wetshaving next month. My first year will filled with so many purchases that I don't think I'll need to buy anything for the next three

Fishing supply purchases are up. Lots of Senko worms for some bass fishing I did camping. Another Penn Battle 3 1000 on order and getting closer to pulling the trigger on a Daiwa Tatula SV TW Casting reel.
