For several years we have started the Gold Dollar mod competition on May 1. For those of you who don't know modders take an inexpensive Gold Dollar 66 straight razor and turn it into something beautiful and shave-ready. On July 1 participants put their grinders down and show off their work. The populace of B&B then votes on the best modification. You can find the threads on previous year's competition here.
We had a great response last year with several fine razors in the competition. Hopefully a few more people will take the plunge this year. I haven't checked but supply chain issues should be worked out by now. If you are interested in participating it pays to order your unmodified razor now so you get it delivered on time.
While I always enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with, I'm not a straight razor user. If anyone else would like to run the competition, please let me know.
