INFO! 2022 Badger & Blade Gold Dollar Mod Competition Entry Thread

Today is July 1. A group of razormeisters have worked diligently to turn a very crude Gold Dollar straight razor into an eye-popping wonder.

Please post your entries to the Gold Dollar Mod Competition here. This is open to all Gold Dollar modifications created between May 1 and today. Let's keep discussions in the main discussion thread. Once we have everyone's entries here, no later than July 8, I'll start a poll so the B&B members can vote on your entries.

Square Point, Thumb notch, Spalted Maple Burl scales with black G10 liners.

Another square point with yellow tinted acrylic scales and ebony wedge.

Scales are curly maple, dyed blue with ebony liners and wedge.

Slight asymmetric grind.

Gold Dollar 66, cut down to a shorty at a little over 2 1/2".
Dutch point, more rounded than original.
Reprofiled heel, most of the stabiliser removed.
Tang reshaped, stamping and jimping removed.
Spine thinned for almost 2⁰ sharper angle.
Wavy grind sanded out, polished to near mirror.
Scales are ivory acrylic in classic style with acrylic matching wedge and pinned with bronze pins.

Shaves really nicely...and the shorter blade is not bad for tricky bits under the neck.

Balance point ended up within 10mm of the hinge pin, which I was very pleased with.

Quite happy with how this turned out, for my first shorty, first new scales, first repin, first mod...

Hooked now...
