I actually pity refs in any sport. You gotta have some THICK skin. You absolutely can not make a mistake these days. And if you do, there is instant replay and challenges. So then the call gets overturned and everyone is like SEE I TOLD YOU SO!! And you are just like ummmmm sorry? At least back in the day you could swear up and down your call was right and no one could prove it otherwise.

imho Basketball is played much faster these days than 50 years ago. Seems everyone is bigger, stronger, faster. I doubt with 9 refs they could do much better than now.
