I will say this - one thing a voluntary moratorium on purchases has illustrated for me quite plainly is that I got zero issues with software variety... I definitely don’t feel like I’ve been deprived of anything by buying no supplies of any kind for nearly six weeks.

Me too! I have been rotating through a few favourites and now with one with the donut, I am using it until it's done...wish me luck but probably won't make it another week.

I've noticed using some of my lower to mid-tier soap has been good for my technique. Something with less slickness or cushion really makes me zone into the shave and hone technique and listen to the feedback (audible and physical) feedback from the razor and blade.

so far it's just training, mostly review.

Congrats on the new gig! Hopefully not too much training before you get into the 'good stuff'!

I'm still in, but I've been mostly absent from B&B in an attempt to keep the ADs in check (it's working remarkably well!).

I am pretty much shaving with the exact same setup every day, and I'm realizing that I'm perfectly content with the following gear:

Razor: Karve CB (C solid bar)
Blade: Gillette Nacet
Soap: Tabac
Brush: Paragon Plissoft 28mm
Preshave: Noxzema
Aftershave: Dickinson's Enhanced witch hazel (alcohol free)
Balm: Nivea Men's Revitalizing face/body lotion

Sticking with the same gear every day has only led to better and better shaves, and I couldn't be happier!

I’ve used Stirling almost exclusively since the beginning of the year, but decided to switch to something different for the next few weeks. I rotate three razors and three blades, and everything is working really well. I dare say I’m content and the ADs have subsided.

After initially choosing my car I wanted to change it to something more exotic, but stuck with it because it’s so classy.
