2020 Shave Purchase Sabbatical - Those Daring Men with their Jaunty Razors & Jalopies

I'm out.

I bought a 40s superspeed which I plan on using as my daily razor. I will also be getting rid of my flare tip razors (blue, standard, red). This will bring my razor count from 5 to 3.

- 40s superspeed as daily razor
- Gillette Heritage as a travel razor
- Vikings blade razor

I don't like the vikings blade razor but it was a gift, so I can't get rid of it.

Two recent retirements have been reported; #8, @deafficianado forced to retire with a blown head gasket and #11, @Ruva retired with a broken exhaust valve. Both were in Team Two.

Hi,

And, there is is: Temptation. There's this guy, see, and he made a jig to take an Old Type and twist it into a Slant. And, I want one. But, I have one OT and it was Granddad's and I can't do that to it. Heck, I can't even bring myself to replate it and I can do that for free in my own machine shop.

I could make my own twisting jig for free, but there's the I Don't Gots Any Extra Old Types again. And I expect I'd need several to get the jig made right. This guy already did that.

So, tempted to buy and OT and send it off and pay to have it twisted, Sister.

My shave today with my Lo Storto continues to be fantastic. Dropping it about 3 1/2 feet, onto ceramic tiles, yesterday did not effect the twisted one in the least. It was not even dinged or scratched. I thought it might turn it into a Roedter Lo Storto 1909 after such a drop. I was happily mistaken. I would need to use a back-up Fatip Lo Storto for that experiment. Since I'm on sabbatical that will have to wait. I did not swap out for a fresh blade after dropping it. Upon shaving with it, I could tell the blade was not damaged. It shaved exactly like a Lord Platinum on day 9.
