Sounds like they may be doing Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. In theory it's a great concept if you can stick to it.

I'd love to commit, but I've just got started in this hobby and the last things I need are some stones and a lapping plate. After that I should be good for a few years maybe even up to 5 years! Plus I'm putting together a Dopp kit for my daughters boyfriend who will graduate boot camp in February and I want to make sure he's setup (at my cost) to enjoy shaving while he's in the military instead of dreading it like I did.

Hmm, I wasn't going to try '19 but maybe I will.
If I list a puck/tub of shave soap as my exception, do I have to list which brand?

I am interested to know the answer to this question as well. I am thinking about joining again, maybe third time will be the charm!

Hi,

No, you don't need to list which brand unless you want to. That said, the more specific the better. But, Puck Of Soap or Tube Of Cream will do.

Me, I know what brand I want so I listed it. Besides, I will probably get him to drop one in the mail Week 1 (my restock week) and so not wait until September and the Fair. At which point I change out my exception.

Survivors of the previous year get a free week Jan 1-7 and don't have to set their exception until the end of that week.

I'm in for the 2019 Sabbatical. 2018 completely cured me of the desire to acquire anything shaving related. Wished I had done it for 2017 and I would have save a lot of money, well sort of. 2017 purchases will allow me to do sabbaticals for the next 5+ years with unwavering convictions.
