What's new

$200 for a new Fat boy?

What exactly is the difference between "unsued" and "new old stock"?

Someone please tell me I'm experiencing a crazy bout of AD and should not drop $200 on this Fat Boy!!!!! :sod:

I really want a Fat Boy, and would really prefer a new/unused one...

If you did spend $200 on it then you should not even get it out of the box! Go get a FB but get a used one with some history about it. Get a birthday one if you can. :001_rolle

Spending that kind of money on a FB is ridiculous, in my opinion, unless it's the model with the dial at the bottom, which is a very rare variant. You can easily find an excellent condition FB in the case for far less than what this seller is asking. Plus, once you use a NOS item, it's no longer NOS, so what's the point? Another thing to consider is that if you've never used a Fat Boy before, you may not like the way it shaves. I have two of them, and while I happen to like them, I much prefer my red tip. My advice, if you haven't used one yet, is to look for a user-grade FB, clean it up and take it for a spin. If you are wildly in love with it, then hunt for a cleaner example and sell the first one.

I also have a red tip yet prefer my FB over it anyday. Hey here is an idea! Get signed up for the fat boy feeds tour and you will get a try out for $5 plus shipping!

Nuts!

Besides - There is no way the seller can say with certainty that this razor was unused.
It could have been used dozens of times and well cleaned.
The case is open, it is NOT New Old Stock, there is no papers, so it isn't even Mint.

You can get a fabulous condition Fat Boy for a heck of a lot less than that.

I satisfied my Fat Boy urge by buying a $25 Slim. It's adjustable and I'm getting great shaves out of it. If you really need a FB, post in the WTB thread. I'm sure there's someone here who can help you out. First give B&B a try, then go to ebay.

I say because its your money do what you want. Personally I would use it because there is no guarantee its never been used. What a beauty:thumbup:

Wow, these prices are insane!! Both of my FBs are in great shape and are in the original case (which I have stored away). I'm thinking strongly that I should put one up on the 'bay and put in an order for that Aston Martin DB9.

With a little patience, Fatboys in shaver quality to better can be had on the 'bay or here in the B/S/T for less than $50. IMHO these are the best shavers out there for feel, head weight and balance, but you should NOT pay $200 for any shaver that you do not intend to be a collector's item. Save your money and buy a $30 fatboy and enjoy the shaves. Anyways, you'll need the money once the SSAD and/or SCAD sets in :w00t:
