20% Off at Red Envelope-Great Leather Washbag/Wetpak/Dopp Kit

$MA_11_GEN_TR400959_W1_RC.jpgJust wanted to hip y'all to this. With the promo code "redtier" items are 20% off. They have this great leather vintage style British military wet pak/wash bag regular price $129.00. The item is the Leather Excursion Travel Case. With the 20% promo code and shipping, the total comes to $116.95. I have the earlier model of this bag and the leather quality and materials are very good. The liner/interior is removeable/detachable as is the main pocket, makes it easy to wash the liner if necessary. I travel a good bit and these hold your basics well with a degree of organization. I just ordered the newer model because I liked the buckling/fastening system better both for function and appearance. I think the Red Envelope model is at least comparable to the Daines and Hathaway model which is more expensive and does not have the removable interior. Now I just have to figure out what do about my older model when the new one arrives.

I mean no offense to the OP and I can not speak on the quality of the Red Envelope product. However, I would like to come to the defense of Daines and Hathaway or, if you will, at least suggest you consider their offering if you are in the market for a shaving bag.

(I guess I'm a bit partial given the quality of product the D & H artisans produce.)

- Daines and Hathway's 'british military leather shaving kit' is a little more pricey; it is $132.95 shipped from QEDUSA (great customer service and a really nice man) vs Red envelope's sale price of $116.95 (here in NY they also will add ~$10 sales tax.)

- I don't think the liner of the D & H is removable, but it is waterproof. This is huge when traveling from night to the next, as you may not have the time to fully dry a brush or the like, and you definitely dont want the moisture to repeatedly come in contact with the leather. Waterproof can not be said for Red Envelope's product.

- For $16 more (or less than $6 more if in NY) you get a handmade in England shaving kit from D & H. . . . Pretty confident you will be getting neither handmade nor 'first world' made from Red Envelope.

Again, the choice is yours, and that may well be a good price on the Red Envelope offering; this post is meant as nothing more than a counterpoint to those interested in picking a shaving bag up (or those looking to drop hints to SWMBO!)
