2 1929 Miladies

These are such beauties -- and somehow even with the hollow handle, they don't split like so many other Gillettes from this era. Even the gold plating seems to hold up better than the later Gillettes.

Made for the lady, and contrasted with the heavier Milord, these great little razors don't get as much air time as they deserve. Great shavers -- perfect for the lady and equally excellent for her spouse.

I had the good fortune of finding 2 different cases -- same great razor! Anyone have any other colors of the case?

Sounds pretty exotic Alex. Do you have any photos of this razor?

here are some examples of Milady´s (1915, 1918, 1920´s, 1928, 1930´s, 1940, 1955) :

Ipicked one of these up a few weeks ago, with the green case, lovely condiion, with blades as well, never used this razor though.

Jake, those 2 Miladies are really cool. Great score! I agree that these don't get nearly enough press around here. They look like awesome examples of Gillettes from the '20s.

Achim can always add such a wonderful perspective to the reviews and photos of these vintage/antique razors. What craftsmanship and charm went into the creation and eventual use of these guys or gals. Wonderful that they were maintained in such a pristine condition for all these years. And great that our fellow connoisseurs can locate, maintain, and collect these classics.

Thanks for your photos, stories, and if those of you who also have examples of these ladies' razors could add photos, please do!

Thanks.

I can add these:

The razor and case are not original together, it took me some time getting those two together. And I may not have the right blade case in there, mine is the "fancy" variety and the one in Achim's pic is plain. I have a plain blade case, would that be more authentic?
