What's new

1st Lather Catcher: You let me down!

I thought we were friends. I expected more from my fellow B&B folk. We had a good thing going, you and I: I would throw out a low bid on a razor nobody had bid on; then one of you fine gentlemen would swoop in at the last minute and save me from myself. It was working so well, what happened?

I was watching this Ever Ready Lather Catcher (a 1912 set based on Waits Compendium and adverts I found). No one was bidding, so I figured I’d be the patsy and open it up.

But then nobody else bid! Do you know how much trouble I’m going to be in when my wife finds out?! Gee, thanks.

Anyway, my first lather catcher! 😃

Question: this is a 1907 razor, correct?

The BOX is clearly the 1912-14 version, as opposed to the earlier box with lettering only, not the Trademark Face.

Waits shows several changes in lettering on the razor head over the years, and this example looks like the final version.

But are there any real differences to the ER lather catcher after 1907?

It is the one in the upper right corner of the 1904-1911 assortment pictured in post #2.

I have not tried to nail down the exact year.

And……. Have you had a chance to use it yet? These are beautiful razors. (Edited to add…) Ahh crap. Last year already. Not around since August. Oh well. That ER was probably so satisfactory he saw no need to come here ever again!
