1970 P2 Black Super Adjustable what is this equal to if all Nickel.

I have found the size and feel of my perfect Razor.
I just wish it was in Nickel.
What would an exact match to the 1970 super adjustable be if it was made with nickel like my Fat Boy.
Is there one that the same from a prior year.

Second question:
I noticed the bottom of the razor head looks black and some other form of plastic. Did they make all the supers the same or did they have changes in the base metal and plastic?

I would say an all nickel would be very much like a slim adjustable. The late 70's to early 80's super adjustable had plastic base plates. Older super adjustables from 69 to the mid 70's had nickel plated base plates. All are good shavers IMO.

Thank you. It is the handle size and the razor head that makes it a great fit. Love the balance as well.

The slims handle would be shorter

A bit shorter, yes.

In answer to his question, the Super Adjustables didn't all have a black plastic part on the bottom of the razor head. They did make some that were all nickel.

Not sure whether they made the long-handled ones in all nickel, but I think they did. If so, the answer to the OPs question would be to get another SuperAdjustable, just one that is all nickel.

If they didn't make the long-handled one this way, then I agree that a Slim would be a good choice.

My search begins then for an all nickel super adjustable. It seems that they where not all made with the plastic base that mine has. The next question is can this be sorted out by production year or just need to get lucky?

Just for what its worth, I have an S-1 short handle with the nickel base, as well as a T-3 Long handle also in nickel. My gold version is a P-1, while the only black plastic base is on one dated F-4 .. so I'm also thinking that the change to plastic happened after 1970

News flash. Never checked the stamp. The ebay listing stated P2. It was not. As many noted above. It is a Y1... Not a P2. Got my money back and now back to looking for a P2. Any one have one to sell? I will post a WTB on the site later. After my 50 post limit hits.
You guys know your razors.... Thank you.

You could strip the black enamel with some sort of caustic material and have the razor replate in nickel (or rhodium  ). I would practice on the black handled super speeds though, because they are cheaper and you might ruin one or two in your attempts.

X code Super Adjustable's are the beginning of the plastic heads, year being 1977.
So a W or 1976 or earlier will at least be all metal !

I am certain of this, as I'm seeking an X3 as a gift!
