Amazing how well it cleaned up. Looked like it had been sitting in a mechanics shop. Great vintage find!

It would be well worth a replate, if you're able. To keep it looking clean & gunk free, I use Barbicide, in an old barbers' dunk jar. May not be something you're able to find, but, in general, a surgical viricide/bactericidal rinse will not only kill germs, but keep things looking sharp sharp.

I was keen on replating a family hand me down, but I suppose I would shave with that after maybe also doing an ultra-sonic bath in Bargisol or Simple Green d Pro 3, but I’d want to read the label of the latter first. It does say for use in barber shops. We use the latter to clean our jet tub and there has been no damage to nickel plated fixtures there. Great job done on it!

I replated mine in part, because I also intend to hand down to yet another generation.
