I've had a number of these over the years and even a few in its most classy chrome plated metal case. In my experience with these cases -- they're often pitted or heavily tarnished. This one is remarkably clean and close to being mint. I wonder why Gillette changed its policy with the #16 Aristocrats -- not changing the name of the set even when delivered in so many different type of cases. So when you've got a #16 razor -- you can be sure it's a #16. And what a beauty.
With a case that looks that good, I assumed the razor would be really fine.
Rhodium plating provides such an amazing shine and gleam on the razor. 64-years old and looks like it was just made yesterday. Would that they were still made today.
