For sure, these have been test runs with Lane 1-Q, worst case I’m out a few bucks. 30 seconds does seem long, I did this last press 20 seconds. I will be pressing this one for 8 days due to travel. I’ll post picks when I get back Friday or Saturday.
I think it would have expanded more, but the tin I store it in is holding it down.
Works fine since I need to get it from the kake to my pipe anyway.
Did another press of 3 oz Lane 1-Q. This one pressed for about 8 days. I think I’m happy enough to start pressing some better quality stuff. Next will be a nice combo of Mac Baren Honey & Chocolate with a little burley and GLP Virginia Cream.

I’ll find out this wknd, but I’m not expecting much difference if any in an aromatic. These are just trial runs with inexpensive tobacco. The main goal is to make sure I’m doing it right before I start pressing some of my favorite English blends that are taking up way too much storage space. If pressing helps those English blends age better that’s a nice bonus, but my main reason storage. The big question is... how does it compare to unpressed 1-Q?

This is a 12 day press of a 50/50 Latakia & Dark Fired Kentucky. If it tastes half as good as it smells, I’m in for a real treat.
It’s the last of my Latakia, so I better like itSounds like my kinda blend. Let us know how it tastes!
