12c open comb compared to the Mastiff- New combo anyone?

I have the Mastiff and really enjoy the Open Comb New shave I was trying to see if anyone has both ?

I shaved with my HD today and the shave was not as comfortable as the Mastiff New combo is, I guess it could be that the open comb lets the lather get closer to the blade?

That's what I have - NEW with Bull Mastiff. I also use an Old Type sometimes. Both great. The handle change a lot in the shave. My Hoffritz is also great!
