Has anyone read/tried to accomplish this book by Ian Buxton? Its both dry in humour but a good list for the beginner or. Budget conscious drinker. All whiskeys are fairly affordable and it covers a wide range of countries (though Ireland, Scotland, Japan and the US get the most nominated).

YUP....Have the original 101 Whiskey's to Try Before You Die and Buxtons latest book: 101 World Whiskey's to Try Before You Die. Both great reference books and must reads for the serious whisky drinker and/or someone who's curious about getting into whisky.

Actually, some of the recent releases haven't been too bad, but the early stuff? Well. I wouldn't have cleaned my paintbrushes in it....
