What's new

#1 rated Thermopen on closeout

hmm, looks familiar. Could this be the one that my favorite nerdy, nice watch wearing Food Network show host uses?

This looks familiar too.....

Thanks for the notice, Jim!

For those who aren't aware, this thing is spot on. It's by far the best food thermometer I've ever used. It reads instantly and accurately and is WELL worth the price. It certainly takes any guesswork out of cooking, brewing, and grilling. Plus, if you're a coffee geek, you can see just how hot your machine brews...which is nice to know for us coffee geeks. I'm sure there are myriad other things this can help with.

It has been selected as the best temp probe by Cooks Illustrated (for sure) and I believe by Fine Cooking too.

It reads in 4 seconds and is accurate to +/- 1%, with resolution of 1 degree, over a range of -57 F - 572F. It has a nice big digital readout.

It's only real shortcoming is that it is not water resistant, so you need to be careful not to leave it outside in the rain.

It is being discounted, because they are bringing out the new model that is water resistant, reads in 3 seconds, with resolution of 0.1 degree and the accuracy is expressed as: ±0.72°F (±0.4°C) from -58 to 392°F (-49.9 to 199.9°C), ±1.8°F (±1.0°C) from 392 to 572°F (200 to 299.9°C)

I have the current model and love it!

One of the most used items in my kitchen. I wouldn't be without mine. Lightning fast reads and a wicked sharp, thin point that won't leave gaping holes in your food.
