Well...yes. Yes it could. In fact it seems promising so far. I bought the knot on a whim on the Bay from China. It was $4.50 shipped...but hey, not complaining.
The disadvantage is I prefer a bit boar knot...but this is only 19mm. But hey...it lathers fine...and actually was pretty darn soft after a good soak, soap, and shampooing. Slapped it in a spare handle and there you have it...
