I finished LeCarré’s The Honourable Schoolboy yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I love the flawed characters and conclusions that are not neat and tidy.
Moving on to Stephen King’s ‘The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.’
I have been obsessed with Krakatoa since reading The 21 Balloons when I was a kid. I read Winchester's book when it first came out and loved the thing.
I would do the same thing you’re doing, Bob, but my shoe size varies from brand to brand (10.5 in Aldens; 11.5 in Brooks; 12 in ASICS). I can’t trust that they’ll fit when they get here.
I finished the second in Asimov's Foundation trilogy, 'Foundation and Empire,' on audio yesterday, and quickly snapped up and started the last one, 'Second Foundation.' Great story so far (though I had the second one figured out waaaaaay ahead of time). I'm hoping to complete it (and should)...
It’s such a punishment to be subjected to months and months of outstanding shaves, isn’t it? I have a partially used puck of Windsor in the den and look forward to breaking it out again.
Of the Italian soft soaps, my two favorites, hands down, are Boellis Panama 1924 and Vito’s Red. Two outstanding soaps. With Vito’s a fraction of the price of Boellis, I know which one I’m buying next.
