    The Ammo Shortage

My only experience with Norma brass was with some .308. One of the selling points was that it was already prepped, but the overall case length was way short.

Betcha can't build just one (AR).

I put the Lyman trigger gauge to the JP single stage and it averaged under 3 1/2 lbs. It is adjustable, but I have misplaced the instructions for it, so I'll leave well enough alone.

KZ Barrel Spline Socket Rod For AR15/M4 Upper Receivers (botach.com) I ordered another one of these for the AR 10 build since the one I got for the AR 15 worked so well. No more clam shell for me. Thanks to @RandyC for the suggestion!

Which little dude are you referring to? You know we want to see the goods when they arrive and how they're put to use!

Are Small Pistol Magnum & Small Rifle Primers Safe in 9mm?

Prior to reading the above, I was told and under the impression that the safe procedure was to lower the powder charge by a half grain and work your way up watching for pressure signs.

A Day At The Range/Gun of the day

Worked the morning shift at the range as an RSO. It was pretty foggy at first, but clear by mid morning. I don't know if it was the ammo shortage and prices or what but I've never seen it so slow, only a handful of shooters most of the morning but picked up a bit. There was a local gun show...

I finally got both the Aero Precision M5 upper and lower receivers in for my upcoming 6.6 Creedmoor build. I may start acquiring other currently available parts as I await backordered parts for my 6.5 Grendel build.

No problem. I'd be arrested and/or fired if I brought gun parts to work!

Well you would need to clamp it down securely to torque a barrel nut to 65 ft/lbs or remove a barrel nut to swap barrels, etc. I have two large C-clamps that will secure the vise for the heavy stuff, and use just one to hold the vise from moving while doing the less dynamic stuff.

@BigFoot , from the thread on my first build: The kind of stuff you might want to do inside in the AC, vise doesn't need to be permanently mounted. You could always put felt on the bottom of the board and use recessed bolt heads so as not to mar the inside furniture.

That is why I'd mount it to a board. You can clamp it down when you need to do something like torque the barrel nut, or use it as a "stand" with the magazine well insert or clam shell, etc. and use it indoors to hold you build in progress as you tinker with the less "dynamic" aspects of...

    Federal Cannon Ammo in Stock.

I almost picked up some .41 mag "bear loads" but passed as I have no need for them. Had they been standard 210 gr. .41 mag loads I'd have scooped them up. I have a S&W Mountain gun that has been fired only a few times, the wooden grips that came on it are very angular, not at all like classic...

So the lower arrived at the LGS today and I picked it up. It was ordered two days after the upper receiver, which still sits in Lowell, AR since three days ago. I wonder if the difference is because it is being shipped to me instead of an LGS.

    Federal Cannon Ammo in Stock.

Yes! Plus you can shoot .45 LC in the .454. (I'd bet you'd shoot more .45s than .454s in the long run!)

Well my AR 10 upper and lower receivers are in Fed Ex limbo somewhere in Arkansas and have been for a few days. Don't know if its the weather or just Fed Ex.
