Argo, streamed over Vudu, and was really impressed. The last 60 minutes is edge of your seat stuff. Lots of controversy about the minimizing what the Canadian Embassy did and exagerating what the CIA did....and Jimmy Carter's narration at the end. But ignore all that. I'm old enough to remember...
I'd like some feedback if possible. My FC 27 (F) seems to be more like the TWSBI M than the F. Anybody else feel that the Fine is broader than their other pens? I know it's not unusual for the nib line widths to vary across manufacturers, but I just want to verify that what I'm seeing matches...
To me, cursive writing is artistic expression, not anything essential. I think that's why it will be dropped entirely from school curriculums much sooner than later. Poor handwriting, cursive and printing, has always been a problem, which is why the uniformity of a keyboard will win.
How about a "this Pen"/"this Ink"/"this Paper" for a month. Members could comment on any or all of the three, and It could go for years. I would really enjoy a thread like what Andy suggested above. I don't think it could go for years, but would be great information to have.
I just wanted to mention how much letters are treasured by the elderly. If they're in nursing homes, or home and not in the best of health, it's a joy almost like no other for them. They carry the letters around to re-read or to read to others. It's a reminder of a time when this was how long...
Thanks for the heads-up on the cracking issue. I noticed the scratchy noise on the TWSBI when I was doing tests of the pens and inks on different papers. I didn't know if it was a known characteristic of the TWSBI steel nibs because they're stiffer/harder or if the Lamy is just softer/more...
Zero:Dark:Thirty - liked it, especially the ending.....
Flight - meh, as well; reminded me of "Leaving Las Vegas", where the excessive drinking almost leads to me vomiting
Il Mare - watched on youTube, the original Korean movie that was remade as "The Lake House" here.....the Korean movie is...
Before I go to the Fountain Pen Network or a vendor, I wanted to get some polite feedback from B&B first.
I have been using a Lamy Safari (F) with Noodlers Bulletproof Black for about 3 years and a TWSBI 540 (F) with Noodlers Ottoman Azure for at least a year (I forget). I'm needing to order...
I know this has been asked many times before, but my searches aren't coming up with anything. If you can post a link, that would be great.
Anyway, I'm flying from Colorado to Texas and would like to take my hones with me. Can I take 5 naniwa hones and a DMT with me in my carry-on or will I need...
I cut the cable this past year, and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I got an antenna from antennaHub for $40 (one time cost). Local stations broadcast in HD (1080i) and it's better than what I was getting with a dish, and as good or better than cable. It's crystal clear. You will...
I didn't read that you rinse it off after a minute or two. I always do because it's very itchy for me if I leave it on. I use the alum block after shaving, clean up the razor/brush, rinse my face off and then use witch hazel. It's a great combination.
I have so many soaps/cremes that I'll never use up, so why not. I love lavender, so I add a touch of Trufitt & Hill or QCS lavender to IK or other non-lavender, lightly scented soaps.
IK with Trufitt & Hill Lavender is the best. QCS Lavender added to Speick or MWF is wonderful as well.
I'm not a fanatic over scotch, and cannot drink Laphroaig, but the Balvenie Doublewood is special and a great place to start. Part of the aging is in Port barrels so it's a little sweeter.
1. No irritation - I seem to always get a little burn or discomfort no matter how careful I am with a DE
2. I don't keep shaving with a dull razor like I do with a cart because i get so sick of buying them
3. A close shave with a cart only lasts about 8-10 hours before I can feel stubble. With a...
I have Jabonman Lavender-Cypress-Bergamot and Mike's Hungarian Lavender. Both are as nice a shaving soap that I have ever used (the French shea butter soaps are my faves). Lavender is my favorite shave soap scent. The list of ingredients on the bottom of the tin for both soaps is really...
A longer handle helps with bowl lathering, yet it can be clumsy for face lathering. The longer handle keeps your knuckles out of the bowl. A very short loft can cause the same problem. You can handle a longer loft with bowl lathering, and a longer loft is a mess when you face lather. My 2-Band...
