    Help with Cella

OK, is there some magical secret to using Cella? I can't seem to find the right ratio of water/soap. I've tried both bowl and face lather and I keep ending up thin and it dissipates almost instantly. I've heard a lot of people extoll the performance of Cella, but I'm finding it frustrating...

    PAA Double Open Comb Razor

Shave number 2 in the books. I am even less impressed than I was yesterday. I think I'm going to put this one on shelf until I get some feather blades. The shave I got this morning after 3 passes and a touch up was terrible. I've gotten better shaves out of disposables. Frustrated 😠

    PAA Double Open Comb Razor

Had my first shave with this razor this morning. I'm on the fence about it. The shave wasn't as good as I hoped, but I may have to adjust my technique. Either that or replace the Shark blade with a Feather and try again. It just didn't seem like I was getting as close a shave as I do with my...

    PAA Double Open Comb Razor

I just received mine today as well. I'm gonna hold off until next week to start. I'll let you all know how I feel about it. One thing for sure, it's pretty to look at.

    PAA Double Open Comb Razor

I hear you, unfortunately my profession doesn't allow for that. BBS or as close as I can get to it is a requirement.

    PAA Double Open Comb Razor

Well, if it ends up that I don't like the shave, at least it's nice to look at and I'll go get me a piccolo. I'm really hoping this thing performs well for me though.

    PAA Double Open Comb Razor

Aside from making it look like a primitive medical instrument from the lat 19th century, which I find awesome by the way, I have no idea why.

    PAA Double Open Comb Razor

I just ordered this razor. This will be my first open comb razor. Aside from it just being a sexy piece of art I can admire, I'm excited to see there will be a difference between it and my Merkur 38c. If anyone has any experience with it, please chime in. I'd love to know your experience with it.

    Bought My First Boar Brush

It's a Semogue 1305 Superior Boar Brush. I have never used this type of brush so this will definitely be an experience. I tried to manually break it in. I attached a pic. Sorry about the side ways view. I can't figure out how to rotate it for some reason. Let me know what you think. Any advice...

    Personna blades

Last weekend I received a pack of Personna blue blades. I was really excited to get into them because a had seen a lot of people both on the forum and in YouTube videos extol these blades. I can say after a week of use, I am sorely disappointed in the quality of shave I was getting from these...

Ok guys BIG FUN question, what got you to be here?

I've been working in a career for the past 10 years that requires me to be clean shaven every day. I finally got tired of dealing with the irritation and decided there has to be a better way than house brand disposable razors (because I didn't want to spend the money on Mach 3 carts) a little...

    Lather & Wood

Yeah, I don't know if I'm digging the possibility of an ashtray/tobacco smell, but I am intrigued with a cedar fragrance, so long as it is more of a natural scent than a chemical Cologne type scent. That's what turned me off to TOBS Sandlewood aftershave.

    Blades Grimm: Smolder

I just ordered my first can of Blades Grimm soap. This is also my first can of soap ever. Are there any techniques I can employ to get a better lather out of this soap?

    Just bought my second brush

I bought a Semogue 1305 Boar Brush and a can of Blades Grimm Smolder. Any advice on lathering and loading? I've only used my Parker Silvertip Badger Brush. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Should I go closed comb?

You make a good point. I think that absolutely could be the case. I'm not going to abandon my merkur any time soon, but know my impulsiveness, I will most likely buy one anyway. Besides I think I might be getting that collectors' obsession

    Lather & Wood

I'll have to check that out too. I have the TOBS sandalwood aftershave and you're right it is more on the cologne side of things. For me the scent is too strong. I need something more subdued. That's why I like the Lather & Wood, but I will definitely give the razorock a shot.

    Should I go closed comb?

Hey all, I've been DE shaving for a few months, I currently am using a Merkur 38c which is closed comb. I have been considering going closed comb, but I am not sure if this is ideal. While I am getting good shaves with the 38c and Feather blades, I feel like they could be a bit better. When my...
