    Holding An Edge (Stropless Shaving)

Once it reaches its end I will keep it as is until the same test on my T.H.70 deteriorates to the same level. Then I will work on restoring both SR edges together to see how much effort each blade takes. To restore the edges, my current thoughts are to start with just clean leather stroppping...

Stropping on a leather file folder - pls advise!

DON'T BUY that strop from the Titan Store on AilExpress. Titan fo not make strops. They badge engineer strops from other manufacturers. That strop is a good budget strip made in kazakhstan (not China) from calf hide sourced in Kyrgyzstan. You can buy exactly the same on AliExpress for one...

What straight did you use today? Now with PICTURES

This morning's shave was earlier than usual. In fact it was last night. Yesterday afternoon Samantha, my girl from Bohol island, came to visit me. There is currently no public interisland transport so she hitched a ride on a fishing boat to my island Mactan. It was good to see her again as we...

This matching pair recently arrived in my mail. They were a mistaken double order due to the pandemic. Titan 1918 ACRM-2 T.H.60. They are 6/8 of Japanese high carbon steel with added cobalt and molybdenum. The scales are of natural Madagascan Mahogany finely engraved in the mid-quarter. I...

What Did You Learn From Your SR Shave Today?

Welcome to the gentlemanly art of SR shaving. If your SR is shaving well but not quite good enough, go back to the films and try 50 light laps on each of 5um, 3um, 1um and then 1um with a sheet of wet paper under it. You can also take the edge even further with 0.5um, 0.25um and 0.1um diamond...

Putting Together My Second Matching Seven-Day Set (M7DS)

The case for this set should be finished late this week or early next week. I will post pics here once I get it. The engraving on this set will not be done until after I have received the case and checked where each SR best seats. As both the case and SR's are hand made, I expect that there...

    HELP!!! - SRAD

I just discussed my problem with the only girl who truly unconditionally loves me. I promised her no more razors until at least next your. She totally agreed and wagged her tail. There, I am now (kind of) committed.

    HELP!!! - SRAD

Thank you for your most kind offer. Unfortunately that will only help solve the space problem. There must be someone here that has been in a similar predicament and solved a problem like mine. HELP!!!

    HELP!!! - SRAD

I started into SR's about 9 months ago. Today I assessed my SR collection and those on order. Total is 37, that's about 1 new SR every 9 days! Within the next couple of months (if I order no more), I will have 4 M7DS's plus a small assortment of other SR's. My shave cave is space challenged...

What Did You Learn From Your SR Shave Today?

I thought the same. Most of my SR's are 6/8. I then got a 7/8 weighing in at 93g. I found it even more enjoyable to shave with. So much do that I ordered another 7 at USD 65 each to make yet another matching seven-day set - plus evening razor. I promised myself, no more M7DS's after the fourth...

    Straight Razor Acquisition Thread

I never knew that a stabiliser could cause honing problems until well after I learnt to hone my SR's. I have never had a problem honing with any shape of stabiliser. Sometimes ignorance can be bliss. My SR's with stabilisers all have a rounded heel and the cutting edge stops at about the start...

    Straight Razor Acquisition Thread

On AliExpress Titan have 18 different models of SR's; twelve models with ACRM-2 steel between about USD 20 to 40, two models with VG10-HZ steel between about USD 40 to 45, and four models with ACRO steel between about USD 50 to 70. There is not much difference in price due to the scales. It is...

    Straight Razor Acquisition Thread

Arrived today. Two Titan 1918 ACRM-2 T.H.60 straight razors. They were a mistaken double order due to the pandemic. I already have eight of these razors so they might become excess to my needs. If so, I will PIF them to some deserving fellows. Of course I will first bring them up to a...

What straight did you use today? Now with PICTURES

This morning was the first shave with my new Titan 1918 ACRO T.H.64. It arrived yesterday with a well set bevel so all I had to do was refine the edge on film and diamond pasted balsa strops. This is my widest (7/8) and heftiest (93g) SR and I quite liked shaving with it. It is also my first...

First shave with this SR this morning. This is my heaviest and widest SR and I very much liked its heftiness that made for an effortless shave. This SR is going to see a lot more use over time. I might even put together a matching seven-day set of these SR's.
