    Hone identification

I don't remember when I originally bought this 4-sided paddle strop & stone. I'm assuming that the stone is slate? Can it/should it be lapped with a Norton flattening stone? Approximate grit range?

    J.A. Henkels "Vacuum"

Just got a new (to me) straight in the mail - J.A. Henckels.with bone scales: I've tried to find information on the Vacuum; it appears, from the logo, to be early 1900's? Does anyone have background on this model? I didn't find much in my search on this site or the web.
