    chubb 2 losing hair

I had the same problem with mine, started shedding after about 12 months. Contacted the vendor I purchased it from who exchanged the faulty brush for a new one. Hope it works out, the Chubby is a great brush.

    Chubby but getting thinner

By way of update I followed the vendor's instructions which were to give the brush a gentle clean with shampoo and combing the brush when dry to remove any loose hairs. I lost around 20-30 hairs during the combing step and around 5-6 every day for the following week. I contacted the vendor who...

    Chubby but getting thinner

Bill, thanks for your detailed reply. While the Chubby is the brush I use most it is in a rotation. I probably use it on average every three days but will often use it on consequtive days. I dry my brushes by squeezing and shaking it followed by a gentle brush on a towel. I then put it on a...

    Chubby but getting thinner

I have used the brush twice since giving it a good clean and it lost around 6-7 hairs each time, some short but others full length hairs. I have contacted the vendor to see if there is any remedy through them.

    Chubby but getting thinner

I have indeed got some good advice here. I gave the brush a good clean yesterday and will see how things go over the next couple of days. If the brush continues to shed I will contact the vendor. Thanks again all for advice and comments.

    Chubby but getting thinner

Nathan, other than a thorough rinse off after each use I haven't cleaned the brush at all. Will give it a clean today to see if it makes any difference. Cheers, Paul

    Chubby but getting thinner

David, I am a face latherer mainly with MWF but use other soaps/creams. Do you think one has more impact on the brush than the other?

    Chubby but getting thinner

Dear B & B I bought a Chubby 2 in Best about 12 months ago and it has been an amazing brush. Over that time it hardly shed a hair until the past few weeks when it has started to shed 5 or 6 hairs every time I use it. As a result the brush is noticably thinning out. I would appreciate any...

    Nice shave video

Great video, I look forward to the day that I can wield a straight razor with that confidence.

    Wilkinson Sword Sticky

I was lucky enough to pick up a Sticky last year at an antique shop not knowing what it was at the time. It is a very nice shaver, quite unlike any other DE I own. It is a unique combination of being a mild razor that gives a very close shave. I also like the look and feel of the Sticky, its of...

    Feather Artist RG/DX or SS

I would also recommend the non-folding SS. It gives me a closer shave than any other razor I own.

    444 or Proraso pre/dopo cream?

I have just ordered some 444 from Bruno and noticed his recommendation to mix a little with some aftershave. I have tried this with the Proraso pre-post, which I usually only use pre-shave, and it works really well post shave. None of the sticky feeling that you normally get.

Just started honing-what's the worst that could happen?

Thanks David, will try that this evening. Rick, might go down this path if I cannot get it to work. While I am keen to make the one stone honing work for me I don't have a problem with either getting a bevel setter or having someone set the bevel for me while I learn how to do it myself...

Just started honing-what's the worst that could happen?

Thanks Ian. Last night tried again but this time applied more pressure and I started to make some progress. I still haven't got a feel for it but that will come in time I guess.

Just started honing-what's the worst that could happen?

Guys, thanks for all of the replies and advice. Some specific comments/responses below. Scott, thanks for the kind offer. I have a few shave ready razors that I can use while I learn to hone. I am keen to take a razor from dull to shave ready but thanks again. I think part of my problem is...

Just started honing-what's the worst that could happen?

B&B I have just started honing using a couticle. Now three days in and following the bevel setting recommendations from coticule.be but I cannot get the razor to shave arm hair. The razor is not expensive but is in pretty good shape. If I keep going what's the worst that could happen...

HELP - How to remove stains from my razors

Hi Tom Yes, all of the razors were in the same bath at the same time. I only have phone camera at the moment which is not really picking up the stains on the razors. Will post some pictures when I can take some proper pictures. Thanks Paul
