    Watch Ya Wearing

The Seiko "Arnie" reissue today, which is a "grail" watch for me. Received it yesterday. The knife is a Victorinox Handyman...which I received today. And am carrying now, as Ohio just dismissed its draconian knife carry laws five days ago. Buckeyes can carry knives! I am in a bubble of 1980s...

That bizzarre moment you realize you like accordian music...

Then there's us gentleman who maybe weren't dilligent in seperating our whites from our colors. And maybe we were fresh out of bleach a few times. And we know such "whites" aren't fit for public display.

That bizzarre moment you realize you like accordian music...

It is a vastly under-appreciated song. No artist or entertainer or band is currently making anything as good and as raw as that.

A jam session! And YOU as second fiddle!

Is BBS "a chase" for you?

I think I have achieved true BBS maybe 4 times in my life.

I know. Go home. Listen to The Rolling Stones "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" and...anything by Van Halen...and you'll be okay.

I go to Mexican restaurants often enough. The guy on the accordian just did Star Wars...

Is BBS "a chase" for you?

Excellence is always a chase. It comes naturally, effortlessly, only to a select few. Like Mozart.

That bizzarre moment you realize you like accordian music...

The guy just did an accordian riff of the "Leave it to Beaver" theme song and "Hawaii 5.0". I know when I am in the presence of greatness.

March was cabbage rolls month at Hofbrau Haus. Sadly, I didn't go for it. I should've.

That bizzarre moment you realize you like accordian music...

Sitting here at Hofbrau Haus, Columbus. And they've got an accordian player doing some standards. I've been here when football games were on. But honestly, the accordian stuff is better. It's not Shmenge Brothers level good, but it is much like the American banjo. Like the banjo, you can't do...

    Watch Ya Wearing

Oh...they are mainly Seiko NH35 movements. But I am less and less willing to buy watches with NH35 movements. They are a fine, tough workhorse movement...but I have that base well covered. They are essentially a hackable 7S26 movement. I had one of those that ran for 10 years. I have a solar...

    Watch Ya Wearing

Citizen Eco-Drive. Not sure what model or reference number. It was my Dad's watch until two Mondays ago, when he died. Dad considered himself a man of business and the office, which dictated his watch preferences differently from mine. I was mainly a soldier in much of my adult life, so my...

    Watch Ya Wearing

I like them okay. Well, I like the conservatively done ones. I own two now and I just use them as beaters. Probably won't buy another, as the stuff from most Chinese brands, like Steeldive or Heimdallr, is just head and shoulders above Invicta.

    Watch Ya Wearing

Invicta...something or other... Likely a copy of something. Beer is a Helles lager, from the Gemut Biergarten in the Old Town South district of Columbus. Ohio. Columbus, OHIO.

    A thank you to everyone.

It is that kind of week. My Dad died last Monday. Thankfully, I had last spoken to him that Sunday and I got to remind him that I love him. And this week my sister and I had to clear out his apartment, cancel his cable tv, make funeral arraingements, etc. As far as is forum content goes, Dad...

    Aftershaves with "staying power"?

Can you imagine a company having the gonads to pull off an advertising campaign like "Hai Karate" these days!? It rises to an almost "Blazing Saddles" level of irreverence...

    Aftershaves with "staying power"?

Yellow Brick Road was Elton John's last decent effort! It was all Disney soundtracks and whatnot after that!

    Aftershaves with "staying power"?

Ah! Now that is interesting. I was only going off my earliest memory of it. Which was as a kid at my uncle's house, in his bathroom. Saw a bottle of it there. The adults were in the dining room, playing Risk, listening to the Yellow Brick Road album, and smoking non-tobacco related items...

    Aftershaves with "staying power"?

English Leather. Which dates back to at least the early 1980s or late 1970s. That stuff has staying power. Hours of it.
