Their interpretation of Sandalwood was disappointing IMO. Compared to AOS or T&H, the scent was weak and artificial. Performance, however, was excellent.
Personally, my favorite TOBS is Almond.

I've used bicycle innertube to help with slick grips. That's what I have on my Shield right now.
I'm really loving all of their products so far. Bar soaps and aftershaves. Once I use up my stick of La Toja, I'm going to order a couple of their shave soaps too.
I may not wait for my La Toja to get used up.

100% this. I managed to carve up my face in a fairly gruesome way with a Gillette New / Feather combo until I figured this out after a couple shaves. Now, it's one of my favorite combos.
You are correct about Korbel. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Korbel Brandy Old Fashioned here in Wisconsin. It's cheap and it does the job, but the flavor of Korbel tends to overshadow the other ingredients.
Fortunately, there's several outstanding artisan brandy's being made...
