    My Octopus Teacher

I highly recommend this documentary. It is beautifully filmed. Has a well done story told with a good balance of emotion without too much over sentimentality. Interesting guy, fascinating creature. Watch it.

    Immigrant Song

For some reason I recently listened to, and looked up the lyrics for Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” Rather interesting how it conveys a rather well informed historical take on Viking incursions into Britain.

I made it to Spring Training

I invented a new baseball thumb guard that I just launched in a January. Protects against bat sting, and keeps the bat up in the fingers, not deep in the palm for improved control and bat speed. I had a number of NCAA players, some MiLB players, and my crowning achievement; a few MLB guys use it...

    Bats in the belfry...

Or at least in the house... We have a bat in the house, but he’s apparently quite shy. My wife saw him fly in off the porch, and later my son saw him fly upstairs. I’ve spent hours hunting for him, but no luck so far. Any helpful hints for how to track down this winged invader?

    Crab grass

ive been overrun by crab grass. Any helpful tips to eradicate the plague before Spring really kicks in? Flamethrower? Pick axe & shovel? Agent Orange total deforestation?

    Holly Star

I’m giving a shout out for a great new Christmas movie: “Holly Star”. Only available on iTunes and Amazon streaming. It’s a cute independent movie, nice story, good humor, avoids falling into cliché pitfalls, and has some really fun puppet scenes. I really enjoyed it. I caught a screening of it...

    Any Prohitter users out there?

Anybody, or your kids use a batting aid like the Prohitter ? I’m doing some research

    Paper straws suck!

Got a nice iced coffee this morning with the latest *earth friendly* paper straw. The straw totally failed, could not get liquid through it, not 10 minutes into the coffee on my commute. You will notice the beverage itself is served in a nice, big PLASTIC cup. What a farce.

    Arrowheads?

Anybody else out there ever find any arrowheads or similar relics of ages gone by? As a young man (speaking of “ages gone by....”), I spent a couple of summers working on a vegetable farm on Nantucket. Occasionally, one of us would come across an arrowhead laying in the freshly tilled soil...

    Benjamin Marauder Pistol

Looking for insights from anyone who has one of the Benjamin Marauder pistol/carbines? Contemplating getting one as an entry into PCP by way of hand pump instead of tanks/compressors, etc (in case of zombie apocalypse, of course...)

    Any patent holders out there?

I just received notification that my patent was just allowed. Any other B&Bers out there who have also run the gauntlet of filing for and receiving a patent?

If you're gonna rock a goatee...

Then rock a goatee, not a Van Dyke and call it a goatee. I've had mine for a couple of months now. It's getting a bit longer and developing some character (makes up for my lack thereof...), making me look a bit eccentric, perhaps? Here I am testing it out on the locals waiting for the...

    More Fake News!

Japan. A faraway, mysterious land. Commonly known as "the land of the rising sun". Or is it??? Intrepid reporter Seraphim here, sparing no expense to get to the bottom of this, hops aboard an international flight to find out more. Sure, the sun comes up over here. Or at least, it was up by...

    Beard trimming time

Ive had my beard for almost two years now. Kept it trimmed for most of that time. Shaving my neck kept me in straight shaving form. Lately, my moustache has been driving me a bit nuts so I decided to have a bit more significant a trim this fine evening. Tool of choice: Vorpal Gold Dollar.

    Mount Washington auto road

Took a van ride up to the summit of Mount Washington today. Fantastic, rare, clear day. The auto road up gives a major pucker factor! It's narrow, winding, no gaurd rails, and near the top it has precipitous drop offs to one side or the other. Glad I was a passenger and not a driver. For a...
