Blades seem to be one of the biggest YMMV things. So I find rating blades pretty subjective. The ratings are based on how they compare to what works well for me. The ratings are based on how they compare in performance to Red IP's which are my go-to blade.
In my opinion these blades are sharp and smooth. I think the Red IP eeks out just a hair ahead in these categories. They cost a little more than Red IP's so I docked them some on price but they are still not really what I'd call expensive. You'll pay more for Feathers.
Feathers and Astra SP's are the only blades that I've tried that are noticeably sharper but neither are as smooth as the Rapira Platinum Lux.
As to longevity I get 4 solid shaves out of a Red IP and I could tell that after the third this blade was nearing the end of it's usefulness. A fourth shave would likely result in some mild razor burn. Three to five seems to be about the average number of shaves for a good blade for most gents so I gave these a respectable rating on longevity.
