Item Description
Ok short and sweet.
This R Becker scuttle works quite well. Fill it up with tap water, zap in the micro for 60-90 seconds, set your brush to soak in the piggy-back on board water reservoir, and go take a shower.
When you get out, add your soap/cream, shake out your brush and go to town. The inside of the scuttle is textured so if you are used to lathering in a smooth mug or bowl be prepared to be surprised at the ease and speed of lather production. If you need more water, just dip your brush in the reservoir which is already filled with hot water...no need to run the tap, dip it into the basin, etc. There is also a cover, which does seem to trap heat if you are so inclined.
At around 40.00 shipped this is a 10
The scuttle is handmade, and looks it. Its not perfect, but perfectly acceptable- 8
The lid does not quite fit over my higher loft brush, but other than that performance is stellar-9
Warm lather for the whole shave?? Very useful-10
Seems sturdily built, with glazing over the whole thing inside, bottom, inner bowl, everywhere just dont drop it as it is ceramic-10
Shipped in a nice sized box with amply packing-10
I forgot to mention that these can be purchased from Robert Becker's eBay store at http://http://stores.ebay.com/Roberts-Ceramic-Feats-of-Clay/15-off-Sale-Items-/_i.html?_fsub=13215094&_sid=5209516&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
All in all, this thing ROCKS...and leaves you money left over for a couple of tubes of Proraso
