Pirate's Cove Bay Rum & Lime Shaving Soap

Alright, here is the acquisition, the melt and the use!


































First off, this stuff smells amazing... bay rum and lime are the perfect scent combination. This stuff works about as well as col conk, very decent, but not outstanding. It certainly is a nice change up (scent wise) and I would certainly buy it again!

I'm using this soap right now, along with their Lime soap, which I have used for about a year and a half. It lathers quite well, and initially the smell is great, but it fades the older the soap gets (the lime is the same way by the way), hence the 7 on scent. This stuff feels great when shaving though - the razor really glides nicely over my skin with no problems at all. I've used this soap before and will likely use it again in the future, but it's not quite enough to make me say this is the only soap for me. I will say that it's certainly, certainly worth a try if you've not used it before and you just can't beat the price.

First of all, customer service from Tim is absolutely phenomenal. Answers every question ASAP and ships pronto. I wound up trying what I thought was another home brew and WOW...have been back for more. OK the packaging is a nuisance but if that is the only thing to dislike then what the hell. The product smells outstanding, aroma last just as long as col.conks, yes it does fade but...I guess if it was to strong, then all the sensisitive skins boys would be complaining about the iritation Hey,why not warn the baby faces and give us max scent!!! Joel is absolutely right when he says he enjoys taking a few balls to the chin for a good shave Anyways this stuff lathers like no tommorow and lubricates awesome. Combine it with my fatboy and feather blades and wow...another chicks homemade aftershave that i will review later and another wow!!! Damn I never thought I would enjoy waking up so much!!!

I have this soap & the Lime as well. Like them both except the scent does fade somewhat as the others have pointed out. I get a burning sensation from some strongly scented products but both of these work for me. These pucks fit nicely into my Old Spice mug which is a plus. They have a nice lather & alot of glide. I seem to get a better lather out of them when I face lather rather than building a lather in the mug or transferring to a bowl. But YMMV of course.
