L'ome en Durance shaving soap

This is terrible, terrible soap. Barely lathers, hideous scent, no protective qualities at all. Just terrible.

I understand the price downhere is some 10 usd shipped for a 100 gram puck (refill, not with the bowl). It smells really nice, not strong. My horse brush had no problem in whipping up a nice, creamy lather. Razor glided well, face felt good after the shave, probably as there's olive oil in. Ingredients seem rather "natural" :

potassium palmate, sodium palmate, potassium stearate, Potassium palm kernelate, sodium stearate, sodium palm kernelate, glycerin, water, palm kernel acid, fragrance, olive fruit oil, sea buckthorn fruit extract, sweet almond oil, penlasodium pentetate, tetrasodium etidronate, BHT, limonene, linalool, hydroxylsohexyl 3-cyclohexene, carboxaldehyde.

Suppose there is not that much almond in, as usually my face can not take almond - sofar they only thing I have found that does not agree with my face.
A good soap, worth a try.

This soap sucks. It is the worst soap I have ever tried by any maker. The scent is strong and synthetic. The thin lather and pitiful mixture is simply terrible. Using ivory bath soap would produce better results.

Don't even consider using this with a sharp DE blade. You'll pay for it in pain and misery.

Trying new products can be fun. But, this time for almost 30$us I got taken for a ride. Stay away. :thumbdown

When I first started out in this forum, like almost everyone I spent a lot of money, time and effort trying lots of different products, noting the minutest of differences in appearance, scent, balance, and anything else I could think of. Now, I don't tend to ooh and aah, I just get on with my morning routine and if I like a product I might buy it again, or try another one I like the look of next time. I bought this soap this morning, from John Lewis and gave it a whirl. This lathers very well, and stays lathered, allowing a comfortable shave. That was going to be the extent of this review until I noticed that for some reason I got probably the best shave of my life today. I don't know if it was the "L'Ome" or not, but I don't think its at all overpriced and will happily be using this till its finished.

I just came home 2 hours ago with this very attractively bowled soap, and I didn't waste any time giving it a test. This is something I seldom do, but seing that my beard stubble was already growing back, I decided to jump in a shower, and take a quick one pass N-S with this soap. It's very lightly scented, and the lather sure is rich and generous, and it leaves the skin nice and soft, and feeling clean. It also does a good job of moisturizing, so that's also a plus. It does cost quite a bit though, so after I finish it, it's debatable whether I'll buy it again.
