Groom Mate Platinum XL Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer

I bought this based on reviews I have read here several months ago and I am glad I did. It's one of those well made, simple to use products at becomes a "how did I get along with out it" item. For us in the states, it's made here, a rarity these days.

Price: I gave the price a five for this reason. There many cheaper products out there and I have seen others that cost much more. I was considering a similar product from J. A. Henckels that cost much more. Note, now that I think of it, the more the product seems the cost, the less likely it will use batteries. Odd, that. For value, I would give it a ten.

Quality: A ten for sure. First rate engineering and design. The twist action required to operate the cutters is smooth and flawless. It's easy to handle, cleans well and the stainless steel is of high quality. This is tool will last a life time with a bit of simple maintenance.

Efficacy: Ten. Cuts hair smoothly, no pulling, simple to operate. For the money, a great value.

Packaging: Ten. Simple and I kept the instructions printed on the back on how to clean and lubricate it.

Only regret is that I didn't get in on the deal that includes a little leather case for it. Oh, well.

After enduring many comments from SWMBO about the unsightly hairs (and obligatory nasty bits) starting to protude from my anterior nasal passage (read collectively as my snoz) I finally oganised a Groom Mate Platinum.

The trimmer is available here as either a Groom Mate Platinum XL as well as a Bullet (seeing the products side by side it is impossible to tell them apart excepting the product name stamped into the base).

To say this is an exceptionally well designed and built product is possibly the understatement of the decade. The barrel turns flawlessly with no noticeable noise, the gnurled grip ensures you won't slip with the unit, the solid metal construction shouts lifetime quality.

I was a little tentative as I have a uncommonly small nose (prior to having septoplasty surgery last year my surgeon started by saying "you know how your nose is so much smaller than everyone elses....") I found the device incredibly comfortable and easy to use.

I have given efficacy a 9 as the described function was to simply insert the Groom Mate, give the barrel a few twists and you would be done. It took a few more twists and moving the barrel around slightly, but it got the job done with zero pain and a completely clean result.

Nasal hairs are a pain to remove by most other means, and although I had resorted to shoving small and very sharp scissors up my nose previously I now have a sure fire way of rapidly removing unwanted hairs.

Highly recommended!

I purchased one of these about six months ago, and have used it regularly ever since. It is compact, precision-engineered and is made of high quality materials.

It does its job very well, without fanfare. No annoying buzzing or vibrating. It doesn't tickle my nose and make me sneeze like electric models do. The blade is very sharp, and it cuts perfectly, without pinching or tugging.

Comes appropriately packaged with a cleaning brush. No batteries required...

I've used a number of personal trimmers during the past 40 years. This understated beauty is the best of the lot by far. Highly recommended.

I own one of these and they are the bomb, as my nephew would say. Very well made and highly functional.

It's going to eventually happen to us all (barring an untimely early demise)...as you age, the hair on your head disappears, only to reappear growing out of your nostrils and ears! :scared:

As a way to keep this unsightly growth under control, a variety of devices have been marketed to trim this hair...unfortunately, most of them battery-operated, cheaply-made, poorly-performing junk. After going through three battery trimmers in the past five years, I got fed up with the pulling, pinching, and frequent replacement and started researching other alternatives. That's when I found the Groom Mate Platinum XL Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer.

Much like our beloved simply-designed, precision-engineered safety and straight razors, this stainless steel tool performs it's job with minimal effort and high quality results. No batteries! Just insert the tapered tip into the hirsute orifice, give the bottom a couple of twists, and Voila! The hairs are gone! Rinse it out, dry it off, and store it in its plastic tube until needed again. Simple, convenient, and should last a lifetime.

The best part is this tool is very reasonably priced ($18.88 on Amazon), and unlike the battery-operated trimmers, probably will never need to be replaced. Not sure if you would want to pass this down to your grandchildren, but YMMV! :001_rolle
