Glenkinchie 10

View attachment 13269

Glenkinchie 10 is the lowland representative of the Diageo's Classic Malts. It is a very pleasant malt, one of the easiest drinking that I have. 86 proof and 10 years old.

Appearance: Very pale gold, delicate color. Very few, stout legs. Very thin.

Nose: Sweet malt, honey, caramel, grassy notes, some acid after the grass, lime perhaps?

Palate: Very light bodied. Very smooth. Sweet gentle entry. Round. Lots of grassy notes, mild herbal notes. Mild zest and spice. Grows shaply acidic at the tail, very swiftly it passes.

Finish: Very fast and clean, lightly acidic, nearly abrupt. Perporatory for either food or richer, more involved spirits.

Notes: The Chardonnay of Scotch, I can't put it any other way, it's what I think of when I drink it. It's very user friendly and easy drinking. A definite aperitif, the acid helps prep your palate. Would be enjoyed by many, even non-Scotch drinkers. Exceedingly pleasant, but very plain, little to no depth.
