Decided it was time that this soap got a review. I bought this soap based on the good reviews I found elsewhere. My first milled soap "Williams" didn't leave a good impression on me so after 3 attempts I tossed it. I found Proraso and was in love ever since. I recently made an order on a nice badger brush and blades, after mulling it over I decided to give hard soap another go and settled on EJ Sandalwood. Now I wish I had got the Conl Conk's instead seeing as it was cheaper and larger in size. As soon as I opened the package I was hit with a strong scent, after airing out it quickly faded into a nice mild arouma, I'm not fond of strong scents. I then added some water to soften it up and left it for awhile, came back and began lathering with my new brush, it seemed to load nice but after 3 attempts I just couldnt get a good lasting lather no matter what I did, it was thin and quicky dried much like the Williams did. I said maybe its the brush so I got my Proraso out, and the brush easily made a mound of creamy rich lather in a matter of seconds. I guess milled soaps just aren't for me. I'll be sticking with glycerine based soaps from now on... This stuff isn't exactly cheap, if I where you either stick with an quality economy soap or shell out a few bucks and get a better quality like: DR Harris, Taylour of Bond Street, Crabtree & Evelyn, etc...
Update: I tried milling it to see if it would help; it did to some degree but in doing so it won't last very long and the scent just seems to have vanished!!! What a waste, I'm tossing it in the trash where it belongs....
