Curious Wade and Butcher

Well, I can't comment on the thread move. :confused1

It's an interesting observation. I have three W&Bs, an old wedge, a concave grind "Feather Edge" and a 1/4 grind and none have the "S". I haven't seriously sat down to date them but I'd guess the old wedge is from the mid 1800s, the concave grind is late 1800s and the 1/4 grind I'm not sure but probably late 1800s too if I had to guess. Maybe the "For Barber's Use" blades were different?
Not sure how/why this is in reviews but that W&B in Zebrawood is mine, I got it off Floppyshoes who restored it, it does not have an extra "s" on it that I can see unless hidden by the scale and I moved the blade in every angle but did not see an extra s. The original pictures before Dan's restore are over on straightrazorplace.com but even there I can't make anything out.
[edit] this was moved to reviews for some reason...could mods move this back to The Score or Newbies forums?

What is this extra "s" behind "Butcher"?
