In my zeal for acquiring shaving creams, I stocked up on a variety of Taylor's products. As this is Taylor's week on the board, I thought it appropriate to update reviews while they're fresh in my mind and on my face. Price - Like all Taylor's products, these 5.3 oz tubs are a bargain. I got this particular tub at Cotton Blossom Crafts for $13.50 which seems to be about the going rate. I will say, whereas Taylor's Creams from other vendors arrived sealed in plastic, this one from Cotton...

My first review thread, so I'll piggy-back on Brother Kyle's format. I got this tub of Sandalwood from a B&B member, but had been eyeing it in one of the local OK City shops for a while. Historically, I haven't been into Sandalwood scents, but historically I wasn't into wet-shaving either  . Price - I've seen 8 oz tubs of this stuff go for about $16. Like I said, I picked up this and some other Sandalwood products from a fellow B&B member. I'd consider re-stocking at that price...
HEY NOW - My brush doesn't look like the picture!  Ok - so the verdict on this stuff. First off, the packaging is crap. very, VERY cheap and the tube couldn't feel any cheaper (more shotty than a toothpaste tube) once you get this stuff in your hand you immediatly know it ain't no trumper/truefitt. Next - you untwist the cap and you are greeted with an annoying circle of foil glued to the top which you have to dig your nail under and peel off. No big deal - just a minor...

About 2 months ago, I received this great cream along with a whole bunch of other Arko products as a gift from a very good friend of mine. I was a little confused the first time I shaved with it, because as the name would imply, you'd expect it to be mentholated. This cream contains no menthol whatsoever, but it does smell wonderful, it has a scent that would remind you of the tropics, the lather it gives is enough for 2 men to shave with, and the shave you get is great. When you finish...
Normally, before I allow myself to review a product, I will use it exclusively for a week. This, however, is not a normal situation and is definitely not a normal product. I am so completely WOWed by this stuff, that I simply can't wait to tell you guys about it. Price - $5.99 for 3.6oz = $1.66 an oz. It's like stealing! Scent - The "Refreshing Mint" scent is super, and as Tom's of Maine makes natural products, it is derived from Peppermint Oil. If you like the Hydrolast Peppermint...
I know that there are many gents who really like this product. It is, however, simply not for me. As I stated in a prior post, there could be an outside chance that I received a mildly defective tube, but I love my shaves way too much to take the chance of another tube's worth of average shaves. Price - It depends on whether you choose the tube or the tub. The following is a price by ounce comparison to Taylor's and Trumper's in tubes and tubs: Tubes C&E - 3.5oz - $15 - $4.29 per...

In the world of shaving creams, there are two extremes. On one side are the pure scents - laden with EOs and smelling intensely of the pure essence of the plant. Castle Forbes falls into this category, as does AOS. On the other end of the spectrum are the Taylor's scents. Taylor likes to put a twist on things, and the Lemon & Lime is no different. Not only do you have the citrus, but there is a base of cedarwood and other masculine stuff. Quite different, unique and nice. Price...

For years I avoided Trumpers. I love my Taylor's dearly, and the cost differential annoyed me, even after accounting for the weight differences in the tub. Also, I had never gotten a good shave with Trumpers creme samples that I had used. However, I was intrigued by the coconut scent, so when it was my birthday, I figured what the heck. Now I am sorry I waited. This stuff just blew my socks off. From the scent to the lather to the shave, this stuff is unparalleled. Price Yeah, it...

I have to admit I avoided AOS creams for the longest time. They don't seem to get as much press as the three T's, and when it is discussed, it is generally a gripe against their price. I got a tub of this from another member, and I was utterly blown away at how good the shave was, and how nice and pure the scent was. Here it is from one of my shaves this week: Price Yeah, it is on the pricey side ($22), but you get a lot of it. Quality This stuff just exudes quality. The tub...

Taylor's Shaving Shop cream is noticeably different from the floral scented and Avocado creams that Taylor's makes. While some of the same qualities exist, it is lacking in others. I have not used any of Taylor's other "perfume" scented creams, but I would guess that, at least on my skin, they would perform similarly to the Shaving Shop. Scent - The Shaving Shop scent is really something special. It is an exceptionally crisp and clean smelling cream in which I find great pleasure...

Taylor's Rose shaving cream is a top product in my books. I simply cannot imagine this cream ever leaving the rotation. Certainly there is some sentimental attraction as this was the first English cream that I ever owned, but this stuff is nice. Scent - In a word, magnificent. If you don't like rose scents then you would obviously disagree with this statement, but if you do, stop reading and go buy some now. Latherability - Like Taylor's Avocado, this lather from this cream is...
 Guys, I was born in 1954 in what used to be part of Poland, and is now part of Ukraine, and I left at a very young age. I went back a year ago but paid no attention to any shaving creams or other toiletries. This past September, a fella who lives in Krakow, Poland, who's a member of the wetshavers group sent me WARS shaving cream, which is big in Poland, and he also sent me this cream to try out. It's a very inexpensive, no-frills, and good basic cream, it lathers very well, smells...

So I got a sample of this stuff from Charles at QED USA and decided to give it a test run... Ready to rock and roll.... now what brush to use? Finger swipe away.... Soaked Polo 12 ready to go to work... T - 10.....9..... 10 Swirls... 25 Swirls.... More Cream added - 10 more swirls.... Verdict? I am quite underwhelmed. I have since used up my sample - and thus far for the life of me - I cannot get a decent shave with this stuff... I get more nicks...

Last September, I had met a gentleman on the Wetshavers Group forum living in Poland, who was telling me that Wars (pronounced VARS) is his favorite shaving cream for a long time. He offered to send me a tube to try out and after making the arrangements, the tube arrived with a second tube of another Polish-made shaving cream. When I opened the tube, the lemony, fresh scent delighted me, and the lather pleased me as well. It gave me a great smooth shave, and my skin felt comfortable and...
When I got my box from Nancy Boy last week I was really looking forward to trying this shave cream. Not knowing if I'd really like it or not, I ordered the travel size as a "tester." Now I'm sorry I didn't buy the big tub. This has quickly become my "go to" shave cream, even better than my Trumpers Sandalwood. The scent is fantastic, it feels great on the face, and produces the closest shave I've been able to get so far. Its really a perfect product (my 9 in latherability has more to do...
Another masterpiece from Evyap Industries, which I received as a gift, I began using it a week ago. The lather is great, the scent is beautiful, it's so soothing and gentle on the skin, that shaving is a pleasure. :thumbup1: :thumbup1: :thumbup1: The lather not only prevents irritation and razor burn, it gives a cooling feeling similar to menthol especially if you do a second lathering. I'm just head over heels in love with this company's products. Jeff

I'm a big fan of the Taylor's creams, and an even bigger fan of the Avocado (the new scent). For me, there are few shaving products that are finer. Price - Unlike the other English creams (the 2 remaining T's specifically), Taylor's is a bargain. Scent - I almost didn't purchase this cream because I had read several reviews where people spoke of their strong distaste for the scent. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I absolutely love the smell of this cream. It is a very...

I've always enjoyed the DR Harris line, I started to use it a couple of years ago, and I was fortunate enough to purchase DR Harris almond shaving cream. This cream is very pleasantly scented with a cherry-almond fragrance, and does it ever lather rich and thick! My skin tends to be very sensitive, so I find the ingredients to be perfect for my complexion. I would very highly recommend this cream to anyone who wants to get into wetshaving. Jeff

Around a year ago, I bought DR Harris Arlington shaving cream in a store selling all kinds of high-end English creams and soaps. I was immediately impressed with the lather ability and ease of shave with this cream. The scent is a bit weak in the cream, and maybe the moisturizing could be a teeny touch better, but everything else about this stuff is wonderful. Jeff

I've had the chance to test a lot of different creams and soaps, and I've also had access to brands imported from Europe and even the Middle East. Olivia Bay Rum cream is made in Germany by Olivia Seife, and is available in several different scents. I've got the bay rum scented cream, and it lathers well, smells amazing, (I love bay rum!) gives a nice smooth shave. :thumbup1: I find it just a bit lacking in moisturizing, but otherwise, I would highly recommend it.
