Aftershaves (Reviews)

Bronnley's new balm is magic: it soothes and moisturizes in the most perfect way. Almond oil, shea butter and samphire extract are combined to truly pamper facial skin. Scent is mildy fresh and almost neutral, doesn't linger and thus can be combined with other manufacturer's products. layered with Bronnley's samphire soap and shaving cream is an extraordinary experience: smooth, soft and clean skin without the slightest hint of redness or irritation. The balm is also a very good general...
I heard about this aftershave from the wife of a gentleman who has a heavy beard and is a blade shaver. The product is promoted as being designed for just such a guy. Origins is reported to be an Estee Lauder subsidiary and in fact, we found it in the women's fragrance section of an upscale department store. The packaging is attractive and the neat little 1.7 ounce bottle is very cute. The liquid has a slightly creamy consistency due to the aloe vera content. The scent is clean and nice...

This is my everyday, go to aftershave balm. The only online retailer that seems to carry it is classicshaving.com. What's in it? No true idea as I don't read Japanese. Here is the description from Classic Shaving: That about sums it up. This balm comes in a high-quality refillable plastic pump bottle. One pump dispenses about a dime size dollop which is just the right amount for my face. If you have used the Nancy Boy Cooling Aftershave Balm, this balm is a lot like that balm minus the...
I recently sampled the intelliGENTS Lev8 from Gents, LLC aftershave gel and had a positive experience with it. Like most aloe vera gels, the Lev8 needs only a little bit to cover and seal your face after shaving. It is non-alcoholic and oil-free. The fragrance is a light, clean and somewhat of a soapy scent. While not being overly masculine, the scent nevertheless does not give the impression of being a unisex or female fragrance. I would place this scent somewhat like a tea tree with...

Brand new member - may as well dive in. This is my current aftershave of choice. Coming from an unlikely origin (Nebraska), Ogallala Bay Rum is bottled in beautiful cobalt blue glass in your choice of shapes and stoppers. I ordered the glass stoppered version and it arrived in short order - and had leaked in the box. That cork just doesn't provide much safety for travel via the mail. I personally am very fond of the Bay Rum scent though it isn't for everone. Compared to, say, the...

To be short, this stuff is great: smells good, is very effective and quite cheap. The scent is a true classic: very clean and fresh, same as the soap, slightly more leatherish and less floral than the cologne, definitely a lot less floral than the EDT (which I don't like). Downside is that the aroma is so powerful that IMO you can't really use it with other heavily scented soaps or creams. Tabac splash also takes care of your skin a lot more than other alcohol based aftershaves: burn is...
Like said in the short description. Good stuff, I personally don't need to use any cologne with it as I've applied it about 9 houors ago and can still smell it. All in all I like the stuff. A good addition to MY cabinet. Regards Alexander
Notice the "milky" consistency like DR Harris A/S milk? Firstly - this bottle/packaging does nothing for me.... I very much miss the cork bottle/packaging they used to use - but oh well, cest la vie. Next - the scent.... it is basically a dead wringer for their a/s splash, which I LOVE the scent of, but in the balsam form it is a little watered down, and doesn't have "staying power." Ok - so now down to business... this stuff is about the same consistency as DR Harris Aftershaving...
DR Harris is world-renowned for their wonderful shaving creams and soaps. A week ago, I picked up a bottle of their Bay Rum aftershave, and although I'd call it an elegant brand, it kind of disappointed me. First of all, the price is rather steep, and the scent is rather slim, even for an aftershave. Although I don't by any means bathe in it, I find that the bay rum scent tends to be scanty. The moisturizing effect is wonderful however, and it does a great job of killing razor burn.

  I was so happy when I found out that this beautifully scented aftershave wasn't extinct. The last time I had it was 30 years ago, and did I ever miss it, until this past week, I received 2 bottles of it that I'd ordered. Everytime I splash it on, it reminds me of when I was a kid. I love the bay rum scent, it has a nice cooling sensation, and it's not expensive, and it's great to wear for the office.  Jeff
Ok - so here is an interesting product.... basically it uses acid to melt away the skin around your hair to thwart ingrown hairs, while using a MEGA dose of Alcohol and Glycerin to fight razor burn. So... does it work? Well - kinda. It DOES do a wonderful job fighting razor burn, and killing ingrown hairs... however it smells like cancer (if cancer had a smell) and burns like hadies. I mean - this makes any Alchy based aftershave splash look like girlie man stuff... this stuff REALLY burns...

These guys at Nancy Boy must be magicians--that's all I can think of whenever I use this stuff. The scent is killer--if you don't like the NB house scent, you don't like smelling--and no other product makes my face feel this good. It leaves no greasiness behind, yet makes the face feel smoother and somehow richer. There's just a sense of "rightness" with this cream--I don't know how they do it, but this stuff is pure gold. Try it--really.

I got this stuff a while back in an order from Baudelaire soaps, and have been using it to great effect. This is an alcohol-free splash that has witch hazel and shea butter in it. It feels extremely soothing to the skin, and has some of the best moisturizing properties of any splash I have come across. When you look at your hands after applying it to your face, you can see the shine (though it is matte on your face) of the shea butter. This is one of the very few AS splashes I have used...
I have a weakness for alcohol-based aftershaves. I find them a really nice change of pace from the balms, etc. The really high-quality ones, like this one from WoW, don't burn that bad, and actually leave your face feeling very nice. Although alcohol-based aftershaves burn at first, I believe they are unparalleled at reducing razor irritation. This product has a very interesting scent - very "green" and woodsy. It also leaves your face reasonably moistuized for what it is. This...

Compared to Nivea and other *** products this is a superior product - however compared to other top shelf offerings, it is lacking. Skinfood does a medeocre job of soothing the skin and such - but does a wonderful job "sealing" the skin, thus is a superb aftershave for summer use. I use extract of limes skinfood more so than the coral (rose) - and HIGHLY recommend pairing this aftershave with Trumper Coconut shaving cream.... coconut followed by lime is just pure magic! See consistency...
Well well well.... this is it... the mighty "Coral Trumper Skinfood." This stuff will always have a special place in my heart - as it was my first trumper product, and my first high end aftershave. Compared to Nivea and other *** products I had been using - I was in heaven. After having tried so many aftershaves however, it has very much been knocked off of its pedistal. It does a medeocre job of soothing the skin and such - but does a wonderful job "sealing" the skin, thus is a superb...
According to L'Occitane: "Fragrance of the Shepherds: Energizing splash of ginger, cardamom and paprika--blended with our purifying Cade essential oil complex--tones and protects skin, and helps to close pores. Fresh "wake up" aroma extends an immediate feeling of well-being. Its name recalls a Provençal legend." I got a small trial bottle of this stuff at the L'Occitane outlet, and I am pretty impressed with it. The ingredient list is unique (paprika!?), and it does contain alcohol, so...

Well, I got my sampler pack from Baxter a few days ago, and I am pretty impressed. The after shave balm is an interesting beast - I used it the first time without reading the ingredients, and WOW did I get a surprise. This stuff has menthol, and is extremely cooling. Anyway, it is a gel consistency with a light citrusy scent which fades quickly. Immediately after putting it on, you are greeted by an intense cooling sensation. It feels like shoving your face into a bowl of ice cubes. After...
This little "pod" of aftershave moisture cream is really quite a gem. Its humble appearance mask its true greatness. Twist off the cap, and before you even get a chance to process the appearance of the product - you are hit by a wall of peppermint scent. Now... this stuff not only IMMEDIATLY kick razor irritation and soothes the skin, but it has an INTENSE cooling sensation - almost as if you have plunged your face in ice water. Not only does this product kick razor burn...
