My go-to aftershave has always been Aqua Velva Ice Blue. However, it's strong enough that when I don't want a consciously-noticeable scent, I stick with witch hazel and nothing else. This lands squarely between unscented aftershaves and your "signature scent": enough presence to be noticeable, but light enough to not elicit a "he's wearing a scent" reaction. It's not mentholated, and it's not even got much alcohol in, so it's less cooling than many aftershaves. However, it doesn't dry out...
