I use this product in my mustache (I have no beard). It has a very nice licorice smell. It is not intended to be used as a styling agent. If you are attempting to style your facial hair, a blow-dryer and brush would be better suited to the task . Rather, the beard balm cuts down on frizziness and fly-aways while providing a nice shine. Consider it a topcoat for your mustache and beard.
