This is a review of the ATT Atlas with the R plate. As others have noted, the razor is beautiful, and beautifully made. It's neck and neck with the Pils as far as quality and balance.
The R is supposed to be the middle of the road plate as far as aggressiveness. I have a Feather AS-D1 that is too mild. A Progress set as high as four is about where the Atlas is with the R plate. With an Astra blade, my fave, I get a good shave but have to be careful. With a Feather, I look like i was making out with a cheese grater. I wish it took any blade like, say, my Merkur 34C and still gave a great shave. It's just a little rough. I probably would not have bought it had I tried it first. But I'm keeping it for its other qualities and hoping, like Chris Bailey (traditional shave evangelist) that it will become a favorite.
