After spooning over this custom, limited run Shavemac brush, I finally got my hands on one and let me say, it's incredible. Every aspect of this brush is sexy, from its curves to the way it hangs on the stand, it is a 5-star, two thumbs up winner. It is Bernd's work at its finest and this brush has all the bells & whistles. Made of Cocobola wood, this wood handle has a beautiful burgandy, merlot red hue to it and the rings of the grain show through nicely. The Badger hair is genuine...

Well, I got my sampler pack from Baxter a few days ago, and I am pretty impressed. The after shave balm is an interesting beast - I used it the first time without reading the ingredients, and WOW did I get a surprise. This stuff has menthol, and is extremely cooling. Anyway, it is a gel consistency with a light citrusy scent which fades quickly. Immediately after putting it on, you are greeted by an intense cooling sensation. It feels like shoving your face into a bowl of ice cubes. After...

I got a bottle of this stuff at the same time I bought the shampoo/conditioner and the facial cleanser. This is the first liquid body wash I have ever used, as I was brought up as a bar soap guy. This has to be one of the best smelling products for men out there - really fresh and nice. I have tried it just lathering up in my hands, and with a washcloth. Both cases produce nice thick lather. I also find this very moisturizing; my skin tends to be very dry, and it makes a noticeable...

Good morning gents. I would like to take a moment to review some fine shaving soaps from Chelsea's Soap Garden, an eBay seller. I came across her products randomly, and was intrigued by the Ginger-Lime soap, two scents which are at the top of my favorites list. I had her site bookmarked for months before I finally got around to ordering, and now I wish I hadn't waited so long. I got two shave soaps, one in Ginger-Lime, and another in "Katmandu" (ignore the QED shave stick): These...

The Mach III power advertisements didn't impress me much... the whole concept seemed stupid, and I wasn't falling for it. The shick quattro? Oh PUH-LEAZE.... 5 blades, a huge strip to raise the hair on ones face, a single blade on the back for under the lip and sideburns and a gooey conditioning strip to boot? Talk about over-engineering.... but wait, how about a super dooper "Fusion sonic" engine to power the S.O.B. and then polish it off with a battery status indicator - just to beat a...

This little "pod" of aftershave moisture cream is really quite a gem. Its humble appearance mask its true greatness. Twist off the cap, and before you even get a chance to process the appearance of the product - you are hit by a wall of peppermint scent. Now... this stuff not only IMMEDIATLY kick razor irritation and soothes the skin, but it has an INTENSE cooling sensation - almost as if you have plunged your face in ice water. Not only does this product kick razor burn...

Now - while I do not think on its own this product is anything too wonderous, when coupled with CAR A/S moisture cream, it is a dream come true. First - let me say, the scent on these sprays is simply delightful. Really original and "out there." The Summer Sage is incredibly soothing, the Lime is invigorating and the Frankincense/Orange is just... well... superb! Really a nice pick me up - and I would highly recommend. I do think it is important to point out however - that I...

First off... let me say - kudos for Sue switching to a more suitable container for her aftershave balm. This is MUCH easier to use than the aluminum canisters she was using in the past, and it is also handy to see how much product you have left. As you can see, I have used a decent portion of the bottle, and I have given this product a pretty good go. I had tried/reviewed Sue's products in the past, and did not like them - so I decided to give them one more go. Some of the products...

Ahhh…. D.R. Harris – the bastard child of English toiletries. D.R. Harris is not a brand you’ll see at your local yuppie market with a cool name, snazzy packaging, lofty promises it cannot back up. D.R. Harris, although seldom spoken of in depth on forums, seldom reviewed/photographed at length, etc – makes just about the best damn products available… albeit at a lofty financial penance. At least for me…. D.R. Harris is not so much an offering of “products” so much as it is an offering of...

Sorry I don't have a digital camera, but I did want to review this product. I will preface my review by saying I believe Taylor's to be of superb quality and a great value at $13.50 for a tub. Taylor's creams continue to be unsurpassed in their quality of lather and gentleness on my skin. That being said, onto the review.. Packaging I've always received the tubs in zippered bags, so no pretty box thus far. The Cream Upon opening the lid, immediately you can see how the cream is a...

Things have been quiet in the shave cream forum, so I thought I would share my reactions to Taylor's Almond. For some background, I am a huge Taylor's fan. Probably >50% of my shaves are with their creams. I find their scents and shaving qualities to be superb for my skin. Here is the tub among my SOTD stuff: When I got the tub, it was quite soft, to the point where it would begin to flow if you tilted the tub. Figuring hot weather was the cause, I put in the fridge for an hour...

After all the vetiver talk, I decided to pick up a bottle of the L'Occitane version. This is my first ever experience with Vetyver scents, so I wasn't sure what to expect. In a nutshell, I am very impressed. Colognes, for me, fall into a few different categories. There is the "I am a cologne, and I smell nice" category (Taylor, C-M, ...). Then there is the "I smell intensely of the elements I consist of (Penhaligon's, ...). Lastly, there is the category of fragrances that evoke a mood, a...

I have been using this product from Em for about a year as part of my nighttime ablutions. Here is what Em says about it: With cucumber distillate, this naturally scented lotion is perfect for the person who wants it light and fresh. Includes jojoba, glycerin and coconut oils to enrich the skin and moisturize. Soothing cucumber is reputed to have natural anti-inflammatory properties. Use on face or body anytime, a little goes a long way. This stuff is light, refreshing, and moisturizing...

Gents, it is hard to get really psyched about a hand lotion. but this stuff is just phenomenal. Wintertime around here, plus constant hand washing (kids, ya know) really takes a toll on my hands. It is not unusual for them to get so dry that they actually crack. Very painful indeed. Every evening before bedtime I like to give them a good moisturizing. Also another chance to add some scent into your life. I picked this up from Nancy Boy in the "Sweetgrass" scent. In a...

Gents, I got the chance to use the "smart shave system" for its intended time period and the following are my conclusions. Step 1 - Exfoliating pads. My experience has proven these pads to be decent for me. They smell horrid, and leave a miserable sticky residue on your face, that should be washed before shaving (if you don't wash after using this pad, and you shave with an artist club, the added drag from the residue WILL cause irritation and nicks). With that said - they do however...

Gents, This shaving cream got an awful bad rap right from the beginning. Before this cream hit our shores for distribution, it was already receiving lackluster reviews and was touted to be wildly medeocre, and have a **** poor "synthetic" scent. From the get go - this stuff just didn't interest me as for some reason the jar struck me as terribly ugly, low rent and drab looking - and coming from a fan of salter shaving creams - this means an awful lot. The label looks VERY cheap and...

Gents, This is the first tube of AOS I have had the pleasure of trying - and I must say, I was quite surprised. The first thing I noticed was the lid/tub. It is the best built tub of any high end shaving cream I have used - as unlike the 3 T's, and others, it has a very positive opening/closing action, and a great feel/look. When you twist off the lid of the jar, you are immediatly greeted with a "lemon merengue" like scent of delicious lemon. The cream seems to be "airy" similar to...

Some chaps were having problems lathering up some trumpers almond - so I took some pics... Decided to go with the shavemac. It has been a bit lonely. Soaking the brush in hot water, and warming up the bowl Dippin' sauce  Twist of cream in the brush 10 swirls in the bowl 20 swirls 25 swirls 5 swipes across my hand Spreading my fingers to show the density Retiring the Shavemac for future use. So how is it? Decent Almond Scent, but...
