Show me your shoulderless razors....im thinking of chasing one.
Thanks for the heads up.....i have a Dovo "Carre" but want to broaden my horizons with others and had/have no idea of others ...till now of course....lol.That indeed is a great looking razor @M14Shooter.
@6Cuda6 - I was just doing my own "research" few days ago and Maggards has some Aust shoulderless ones in stock, maybe check them out.
Shoulderless razors? I love them and got quite a few. Recently I got my greedy paws upon another one, a Swedish Hellberg. On a scale from 1 to 10 I'd give it an 8, since it has been honed, but it's still close to being pristine. I already had one exactly like it. I bought it specifically to give to you for you being such a fantastic member of B&B and one of those friends I've never met in person. Since I already have one it won't be a hole in my small razor collection. I would be most honoured if you accept this small but fine example of a Swedish shoulderless razor. All I need is your address.Show me your shoulderless razors....im thinking of chasing one.

Nice collection! I am intrigued with the scales on the Torry Our 136. Does the raised area act as a stop to limit how far the blade sits into the scales or was there some crazy fad back in the day?Torrey "Our 136"

And not sure if this one counts ... No stabilizers, but a sharp transition to the tang width... Is it considered "shoulderless"?

Ah, interesting, thanks for solving the mystery for me.I was intrigued by those bits as well. With the razor in hand I believe that they serve to "lock" the blade closed when folded into the scales. I've heard them referred to as "blade stops", but I think "blade lock" would be more appropriate.
I have seen them on a couple of razors on eBay, not only Torrey razors. And not all "Our 136" razors seem to sport them.
I have never seen the "Our 136" before. What a nice looking razor! Of course they are all nice and I do love shoulderless razors but a Torrey shoulderless is something special.
