Shaving brush handle knot depth question

Hello everyone!
I've actually been thinking in making myself a brush and I was wondering, what is the depth of the whole at the top of the handle? I don't want to make it too shallow or too deep so I was wondering if the experts could help me out here. I was thinking around 12-15mm. It might be too much but that's why I wanted to ask.
Thanks for your help!

A typical knot is 64 -65 mm high. To get aloft of 50, the hols depth should be 14-15.

However, I usually make the hole 16-18, then add filler to get the setting that suits me.

Before you drill the handle, obtain and measure the knot. There are variations in overall knot and plug height.

Exactly what I needed to know, thanks Max!

Will do, I've seen some on ebay and one of B&B vendors.

Thanks again guys!
